Paolo and Martin and the rest of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The water was too rough to snorkle at the reef. They explained we would not be able to see much underwater so we went to the second location. There we could paddle board and snorkel but it was a small area to swim and the water was not clear from the boats coming in and out. Would recommend when the ocean is calm but not on very rough days.

Very bad snorkeling experience

Very disappointing snorkeling experience
We booked this sailing & snorkeling excursion via TRS Yucatán because we explicitly indicated that we mainly wanted to snorkel. The excursion started yesterday at 1:00 PM.
After about an hour of sailing, we arrived at the reef. The water there was very brown and polluted. Paola called it "chocolate water" herself. The visibility was so bad that we couldn't see a single fish.
We were then given the choice to snorkel in the dirty, brown water or to sail further to a second location, which was presented to us as a beautiful place to snorkel. We chose the second option and signed for it. Unfortunately, this place was also polluted, with plastic caps and other waste in the water. There was actually no suitable place to snorkel.
We paid $250 for this excursion and ultimately saw no fish. We found that extremely disappointing, especially since snorkeling was the main reason we booked this excursion.
We also decided not to give a tip because of this experience. The employees clearly didn't like it here, and that felt very uncomfortable for us.
At the end, photos were also offered, including photos of fish that we had not seen at all during the excursion. The price for the photos also got lower the more you said no.
Overall, this was absolutely not the snorkeling experience we expected for $250. We therefore would not rebook this excursion and also would not recommend it to people who come mainly for snorkeling.
