Tour was cancelled and rescheduled for one 2 hours later.
Aaron_O, October 2026
The tour was great. The place is beautiful and those guiding and facilitating the tour were excellent. However, when we arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled 12 pm tour, we learned that it had been cancelled and rescheduled for 2 pm. Since we had come early from Rabat especially for the purpose of this tour, the schedule change caused a disruption for our other planned activities. We fault Viator for not having informed us of the schedule change. Viator should do better.

I was expecting a much...
Robin_D, October 2026
I was expecting a much more private group tour than what we had. The description sounded private and ended up just being another huge group. The group started with 15 and kept getting bigger and bigger and when we were done there were over 50 people. We couldn't hear the guide. We enjoy going and seeing historical places but this mosque is not historical. The king built it to show off basically. It's pretty by the ocean, but it looks better from off shore. You have to fight through predatory vendors to get in and out.

Best of the best

Khiar is incredibly kind and caring. He came to pick me up at my hotel and for the return trip recommended a good place to have breakfast with a view of the sea before attending Friday prayer at the Hassan II Mosque. I thank him infinitely for his availability. Khadidiatou

Disappointing tour despite impressive mosque
davidsY156UQ, October 2026
The Hassan II Mosque is undoubtedly impressive and worth a visit. However, the tour itself fell significantly short of our expectations. A positive point to highlight is that everything started very punctually. Although we were a bit late, we were intercepted at the meeting point by a friendly lady and accompanied across the forecourt to the mosque. Afterward, we waited with a very large group for the actual guide. She finally appeared with a coffee cup in her hand and without any identifying feature by which one could have recognized her as a guide. Her English was good, but the tour felt extremely rushed overall. At the individual stations, there were only a few superficial explanations before we moved on immediately. It was particularly unprofessional that the guide took a phone call during the tour, while the entire group had to wait for her for several minutes. After that, we continued to the underground restrooms. In the process, she lost part of the group along the way and simply kept walking anyway, so that the group was eventually torn apart. The low point for me was the treatment of a participant who fell there and was obviously in pain. The guide's reaction was merely annoyed: She said that one had to be careful. She did not even go to the lady who had fallen to check on her or offer help. In addition, the participant belonged to the back part of the group and had presumably not heard the warning at all. Overall, I had the impression that the guide primarily wanted to complete her program as quickly as possible instead of really taking care of the group and its needs. From a tour at such a significant place, I would have expected significantly more background information, better organization, and above all, a more respectful and empathetic approach. The mosque itself is absolutely worth seeing – however, the quality of this tour was unfortunately below average for us.
