A great day in the Montalcino region
DLP1957, October 2026
A very interesting day exploring the Montalcino wine region with a small group tour. Our guide Paulo was informative and entertaining. The 8-seater van was comfortable (there’s a lot of driving involved) although the air conditioning was ineffective and noisy making it difficult to hear our guide’s commentary at times. We visited 3 wineries- the first 2 were great (including a fabulous lunch at our second stop)The 3rd winery was more rustic- almost looked rundown and the wine maker was quite hard-sell!

Lovely tour for wine enthusiasts
angelfishwhite, October 2026
Our guide, Keko, added to the joy of this experience. He was very knowledgeable about the wine and the region we were visiting so we were better prepared when we arrived at the vineyards. We greatly appreciated him working with his fellow guide to make sure I was kept with my group of friends, as they had moved me to a separate tour van. Made a big difference in my day! The wineries we went to were small and off the beaten path, and lunch was at the home of one of the wine makers - so special!

Mattia was great! He was very funny and clearly knowledgeable about the wine making process as he used to do it himself. The delicious lunch and tasting we had (1 of 3 great tasting experiences on the tour) made this trip worth it in and of itself. I highly recommend this experience! Please note that all the sites we went to offered the chance to purchase the wines that you taste and other goods they make including olive oil, honey, etc.
