Powerful and moving

The tour was incredibly moving and very well organized. Both our guides were survivors and ex Bosnian Army soldiers, who showed a lot of compassion for their persecutors and shared excellent tidbits. It’s sad to see Republika sprska attacking the genocide memorial even now and highlights the importance of never forgetting Srebrenica amongst other atrocities. The drive was very pleasant and comfortable with lunch and water being provided. The tour went to incredibly important places in the region and the museum itself is modern, detailed and thorough.

We are so glad that we booked this tour, very important part of history that everyone visiting Bosnia should learn. Our guide, Enis, answered all of our questions, and was very respectful and accommodating. I definitely recommend going on this tour with this agency. Also, it’s about a 2 hour drive so you get to see the beautiful Bosnian nature along the way.

Why?

An emotionally moving tour, a place of collective memory and human brutality. The guide was simply fantastic: friendly, personable, kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable; they explained 50 years of Bosnian history in great detail. A huge thank you to the guide and to all of you for the excellent organization.

We were fortunate to visit Srebrenica with an extraordinary guide Almir who lived through those very difficult times (Lonely Planet has a nice profile about him which he never advertised). He is very thoughtful, knowledgeable, compassionate, and funny. His life and perspectives are quite inspiring. His jokes are quite sharp. Gave insightful answers to both history and present day society. Amazing learning experience.

A must do tour with an incredible guide

Srebrenica is not an easy subject, but Ayoub at Meet Bosnia helped to deconstruct and put things in context, thereby ensuring I got the most out of the study tour. The ensembe of four museums is fabulous with the one funded by the Turkish government one of the very best in the world: grand in scale, state of the art, poignant storytelling, and incredible aesthetics. The cemetery next door provides closure to a painful, but integral part of Bosnia and Herzegovina's modern history. It is a tour one must not miss if one wants to truly understand this beautiful country.
