Great insight into the history of Bath!

The tour description says it shows the darker side of Bath, but personally I’d say it explores the true face of a city which in its heyday, during the 18th century and early 19th century, had become the place to be for the wealthy and aristocrats of the country. The tour covers all the must-see places of Bath, and some lesser-known, at a very comfortable pace but instead of stopping at the mere recollection of historical and architectural facts Simon goes further narrating lesser known events, personalities, habits and stories which taken together allow you to get a real sense of what the city looked and felt like back then, both in its most fashionable and in its more sinful aspects. The tour is perfectly suited for non-native speakers as Simon takes great care to be fully understood by everyone in the group, plus he is a fantastic narrator and at times it felt as if we were enjoying one of those very well paced documentaries you watch on TV rather than a guided tour!
