Charleston's acclaimed Chef Forrest Parker guides you along an undiscovered path where food and history meet in historic Charleston, distilling 400 years into a walking tour experience culminating with a cooking demonstration and three-course tasting of the iconic flavors of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Chef Forrest leads you on a 90-minute walking tour unlike any other in the city, as the only certified chef tour guide, exploring the complicated history of the Holy City and the culinary influences that shaped Charleston into one of the world's top food destinations. You'll visit the not-to-be-missed sights, but also the lesser-known and understood locations where, for example, an enslaved chef created a recipe that still helps define local menus. The tour concludes at a cozy bistro where you relax while Chef Forrest demonstrates how to prepare the recipes he wrote interpreting definitive Lowcountry classics, and prepared using techniques he mastered over two decades. You'll enjoy a lunch with each of those courses carefully paired with wine, and then take his recipes home with you as our gift to you.

Unique 2 hour walking tour followed by a meal prepared by the Chef/Tour Guide.

This tour is exceptional. Chef Forrest led us on a two hour walking tour of the old part of Charleston. Afterward, he took us to a restaurant where he prepared an unbelievable "low country" meal for us (with wine pairings) and all the while explaining the ingredients and how he was preparing each dish. In addition to being a knowledgable guide he is an accomplished chef. We had an absolute blast. I highly recommend this Tour.

I don't get overly excited about many things and tend to be a tough critic. This tour is a Charleston MUST. Rating 10/5. I'm thrilled our group of 8 registered to fit this experience in on our last day before we flew out. It was the highlight of our vacation and possibly a once in a life time experience. I'll preface this with several in our group are excellent cooks and foodies, we were on cloud nine listening and learning from Chef Forrest. His passion, knowledge and experience shines through.
Tour starts on time, exceptional history tour, we were completely engaged in Forrest's presentation. He is an eloquent speaker and knows how to present information and connect with his group. Our meal was the best we had in Charleston - even better than the local Michelin star restaurant we ate at - we enjoyed She Crab Soup, shrimp and grits, and a baked apple dessert that blew my mind. The wine pairings were outstanding. Every part of the tour connected local history to culinary cuisine. Just amazing.
