Best Winery Tour We've Ever Haf
BrianOH262, September 2026
Probably the best vineyard and wine tasting tour we've ever had. You get there on public transport which was a very simple and quick bus ride with someone from the winery picking you up at the local bus stop. The view was beautiful from the vineyard where your tour begins. After seeing the grounds, drying room, the cellars and the old aging room, you are escorted to the tasting room which was gorgeous. It was originally built in the 1600's. The wines and appetizers were well matched and the wine portions very generous. We even got an ad hoc add on of a homemade pasta lunch. Everyone was very friendly and the ride back to Verona was equally simple. We highly recommend the visit.
Response from the operator · JacopoVR Dear Brian,
thank you so much for this wonderful review. Knowing that you consider our visit one of the best winery experiences you have ever had truly means a lot to us.
We are especially happy that you enjoyed every part of the day, from the simple journey from Verona and the views over our vineyards to the visit of our historic cellar and the tasting in our 17th-century room.
Wine, food and hospitality are deeply connected for us, so we are delighted that you appreciated the pairings, the generous tastings and also the spontaneous homemade pasta lunch.
Thank you again for recommending us so warmly. It was a real pleasure welcoming you to our family winery and we hope to see you again in Valpolicella one day.
Warm regards,
The Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde Team

Interesting and relaxed tour of a family vineyard. Transport there and back was organised through the tour operator and it all went smoothly. Learned a lot about wines of the area and how they are produced. The food as well as the wine was excellent and we really enjoyed it.

Excellent experience
nsX3228ZY, August 2026
We had visited Tenuta Santa Maria Vanverde. It is family run winery of more than a century of tradition. They keep producing wines in traditional way. The owner guided us to vinyard, cellars including the one that keeps old bottles exclusively for family use. The light lunch was served on the yard looking out over the valley. We taste 3 wines including amarone 2016. Just keep in mind that “30 minutes by bus from Verona” is false statement ( you can check it on Google map).
Response from the operator · JacopoVR Thank you so much for your lovely review.
We are very happy that you enjoyed discovering our family winery, the vineyards, the cellar and our wines, as well as the light lunch overlooking the Valpolicella valley.
Thank you also for your note about the travel time from Verona. Depending on the starting point, traffic and transportation, the journey can take longer, and your feedback is very helpful for us.
We hope to welcome you back again in the future for another glass of Amarone!
Warm regards,
Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde
