Nessuno squalo, e assolutamente nessuna possibilità di Grandi Bianchi.

Ho prenotato tramite il mio agente di safari e avrei voluto prenotare un'altra compagnia in autonomia. La delusione è iniziata con un orario di prelievo delle 4: 20 del mattino. Per la successiva ora e 15 minuti: abbiamo girato per Città del Capo, fermandoci in vari hotel per prendere altre 9 persone. Alcuni non erano pronti e l'autista aspettava semplicemente fuori finché non si presentavano. Siamo partiti per Gaansbaii verso le 5: 45 del mattino per il viaggio di due ore che è stato tranquillo. C'è stata una colazione e un briefing, ci hanno dato mute e cerate, e ci hanno portato al porto fino alla barca. Poco dopo, l'acqua è stata pasturata e la gabbia è stata gettata in mare. Non è apparso alcuno squalo. A quanto pare non ci sono squali lì da un po' di tempo. Quando è apparsa una singola manta, le persone sono state incoraggiate a saltare nella gabbia: non c'era verso che io entrassi nell'acqua a 53 gradi solo per vedere una manta in un'acqua con scarsa visibilità. È passata anche una foca e in lontananza c'erano due balene franche australi. Tutto qui. Ci è stato offerto un voucher per ripetere il viaggio, ma non c'era verso che rifacessi l'intero lungo e doloroso viaggio.
TUTTAVIA - la Marine Dynamics si è riscattata per il fatto che hanno offerto un tour di snorkeling con le foche per 10 persone a un costo aggiuntivo. Questa è stata una bella avventura, se siete a vostro agio a nuotare in mari piuttosto agitati e acqua fredda. Siamo stati portati a Shark Alley, dove ci sono 50.000 - 60.000 otarie orsine del Capo, e ci è stato permesso di nuotare con dozzine di loro. Esperienza assolutamente unica e affascinante che ha parzialmente riscattato l'avventura fallita con gli squali.
Lo rifarei? Solo se non avessi nient'altro da fare. A quanto pare gli squali bianchi non si vedono al Capo da molti, molti anni, e anche se sapevo che le possibilità erano scarse, almeno PENSAVO che ci fosse una possibilità prima di questo.

Marine Dynamics does not advertise, guarantee or promote Great White Sharks on our website, social media, Tripadvisor or our brochures. If Great White Sharks were presented to you as an expected part of your experience, this would need to be addressed with the safari agent through whom you booked, as that is not how we market our shark tours.
Shark sightings are wildlife encounters, not something we can control or guarantee. We do not feed sharks to attract them, and there were three days during this period when shark activity was particularly slow. This is nature, and responsible wildlife tourism means accepting that conditions and sightings can vary.
Sea activities are also weather- and tide-dependent. On the day of your tour, an early start was necessary because the wind was expected to increase later, which is why the departure time was earlier than usual.
We are sorry your review focuses almost entirely on the absence of sharks while overlooking the educational and conservation work that is an important part of what we do. Your participation in our tour also supports marine research, conservation, and education.

Tutto sommato una giornata divertente

Nel complesso, abbiamo trascorso una giornata divertente e vedere gli squali ramati da vicino è stato fantastico. L'equipaggio era cordiale ed è stata sicuramente un'esperienza interessante, ma c'erano alcune cose che potevano essere migliorate.
L'intera giornata è sembrata un po' affrettata e la colazione era piuttosto mediocre. Il tour è anche pubblicizzato sulla possibilità di vedere grandi squali bianchi, ma da quello che ci è stato detto non ne vedono da molto tempo, quindi penso che le aspettative potrebbero essere impostate in modo un po' più realistico.
Anche l'immersione extra con le foche è stata deludente per come è stata organizzata. Solo 10 persone potevano farla e i posti sono andati praticamente a chi ha alzato la mano per primo. Se il tuo partner non era lì in quel preciso momento, avresti potuto facilmente perdere l'occasione di farla insieme.
Tutto sommato, gli squali ramati sono stati davvero fantastici e abbiamo trascorso una giornata divertente. Ci sono sicuramente alcune cose che potrebbero essere migliorate, ma è stata comunque un'esperienza che vale la pena fare.

We would, however, like to clarify a few points. Nowhere do we advertise or promise Great White Sharks, including on our website, Tripadvisor, social media or brochures. We are extremely transparent about the current shark sightings in our area and even publish a daily sightings blog on our website, so guests can see exactly what has been seen on our trips.
The Bronze Whaler sharks have become the stars of our trips, and we are always honest with guests about the species currently being encountered.

Esperienza assolutamente spettacolare. Fin dall'inizio il prelievo da Città del Capo è stato puntuale e l'autista eccellente. L'operazione a Gansbaai è professionale, ma si vede chiaramente che tutti amano il proprio lavoro. Se non vi siete iscritti per lo snorkeling con le foche e vi offrono l'opportunità, approfittatene. Siete già lì e l'esperienza aggiuntiva vale la pena, per includere il fantastico giro in barca. Gli squali erano fantastici, ma le foche erano incredibili. Avere foche adulte e cuccioli a un piede di distanza dalla faccia è fantastico e vederle giocare è stato meraviglioso. Nel complesso vale ogni centesimo e anche di più. Marine Dynamics è fantastica
