Our adventure begins at "El Cerro de la Cruz," a renowned viewpoint in Antigua, famously known as "The Cross." Here, you'll capture stunning aerial perspectives of the historic colonial city.
After soaking in the views, we'll remount our ATVs and ascend El Hato Mountain, en route to our second captivating destination.
Upon reaching our designated parking area in El Hato, we'll transition to a 4x4 pickup truck for the final leg of our journey to "Hobbitenango."
Hobbitenango is an enchanting eco-park inspired by "The Lord of the Rings." It's the perfect spot to witness a spectacular sunset while enjoying delicious food, refreshing drinks, and engaging games. I had never been on an ATV and another person on the tour had been in an ATV accident so we were a very nervous party of 3 people. Our guide, Daniel, was so sweet and patient. I wouldn't describe this as an easy ATV tour because you go uphill, downhill, and through cobblestone streets where cars are driving. But the ATVs were in very good condition and I never worried about my rides ability to handle the terrain.
There were several groups who went out at once and the company divided us up into smaller groups which helped each group keep the pace that they wanted. Everything was included. There were no hidden fees. We all had a ton of fun despite our initial fears. Our guide took a bunch of pictures of us and sent them via WhatsApp.

Excursions was okay nothing amazing .. we started super late at 2:45 .. rode ATVs for a small amount of time: first stop Cerro de La Cruz and was there maybe 10minutes tops then went to Hobbitenango and that was it.. I did the sunset tour definitely didn’t think it was worth the money.. if anything drive to each location on your own so you’re not rushed on time

We would just like to clarify a few points for future guests. The Sunset Tour is scheduled to depart at 2:15 PM, and the afternoon schedule is planned around the sunset experience. Most people who book the sunset tour want to visit Hobbitenango. Your tour maybe left a little bit later because of the rain, we are in raining season, but Ill check the reason with your guide.
Cerro de la Cruz is a viewpoint, so the stop is intentionally relatively short before continuing to Hobbitenango, normally about 30minures, but depends on the group.
The ATV ride itself is part of the experience between the different locations, rather than being a long off-road ATV excursion. We have diffrent type of ATV tours for guest that want to drive longer and see more.
We understand that some travelers may prefer to spend more time at each location and explore independently. However, the advantage of taking the tour is having the transportation, ATV experience, route, and coordination between the different stops organized for you. We try to stay at the stops long enough so everyone can enjoy and explore!
But again, we’re sorry the tour did not feel like the right fit for what you were looking for, and we appreciate your feedback. All the best.
