Do Not Forget
Joan_B, October 2026
This is a tour all should take and learn from. It is a place to witness and to not ever forget. Hein was our tour guide and extremely knowledgeable of Dauchau, the history of Hitler gaining power & a munition production plant from WWI becoming a prison of atrocities that grew and grew population-wise as more population became prisoners of the third reich. This is an emotionally hard tour - walking within a compound of forever silenced voices. I feel it is our responsibility as humans to honor those who died here, the many concentration/work camps, the people haphazardly shot or gassed for whatever wasn’t good enough for the that reich- all for naught.
Response from the operator · jamie_guide Thank you for your thoughtful review. I agree that remembering the victims of Dachau and learning from this history is incredibly important. I’m glad Hein helped make the experience meaningful, and I’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to him.

Emotional
Fiona_K, October 2026
It’s a sobering time, it makes you realise how lucky you are. Everybody should go and see the inhumane things that were carried out on other humans. People need to learn, so that history is not repeated. Heinz was a very good guide. He also took us to get to another part of the city. Much appreciated.

I’m glad Hein was able to guide you through the history in a meaningful way and help you navigate the city afterwards, too. I’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to him — he’ll really appreciate them. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

An Incredibly Powerful, Sobering, and Educational Experience
Jeff_P, October 2026
Our half-day tour to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site from Munich was an incredibly moving and somber experience, made profoundly impactful by our tour guide, Scott. Visiting a site with such heavy history can be overwhelming, but Scott navigated the day with the perfect balance of deep respect, sensitivity, and immense historical expertise.
Scott is extremely knowledgeable. He didn't just rattle off dates and facts; he provided a detailed, comprehensive history that gave us a much deeper understanding of the camp's origins, its prisoners, the horrible crimes that took place here, and its unfortunate place in WWII history. He answered every question with profound insight, offering perspective that we simply would not have grasped had we attempted to walk through the memorial site on our own.
The tour logistics were also incredibly smooth. From our initial meeting point in Munich through the train and bus transfers to the memorial site, Scott gave clear, effortless guidance. He kept the group organized and ensured everyone could hear him perfectly, allowing us to focus entirely on the gravity of the surroundings.
If you are looking for a meaningful, well-organized, and educational tour of Dachau during your time in Munich, I cannot recommend this half-day trip enough. Thank you Scott!
Response from the operator · jamie_guide Thank you so much for this wonderful review. I’m glad you found the tour both informative and moving, and that Scott’s knowledge and approach helped deepen your understanding of Dachau and its place within the wider history of the regime.
It’s particularly good to hear that the logistics ran smoothly and that you were able to focus on the history and the memorial itself. I’ll be sure to pass your generous feedback on to Scott — he’ll really appreciate it.
Thank you for your recommendation and for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your experience.
