Fantastic experience, Linda is the best!
littleshep321, October 2026
Wow, this was one of my favorite experiences of my two-week adventure in Ireland! Linda was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and enjoyable to talk with! Everywhere she brought us, she shared the history of the place, as well as interesting stories and facts! For the first part of the day, me and another woman from the group enjoyed an extremely peaceful and beautiful trail ride with our wonderful guide Joe through the Wicklow Mountains National Park! Everyone at Killegar Stables was so kind, including my horse, Crackers! We then had a super delicious lunch at Poppies Country Cooking in the town of Enniskerry! Next, we stopped and explored the ruins of the Monastic settlement of Glendalough! Here we also enjoyed a beautiful short hike through the Glendalough Woods Nature Reserve! Overall, this was a truly fantastic day of exploration, and I would love to go on many tours with Linda in the future! Choose this tour for a wonderful experience!!

Novice horseback riders had a great time!

Beginner horseback riding was super fun. The staff put us at ease and gave us the tools to trail ride with confidence. Nice ride though the mountains and plenty of time for great pictures! Thanks to great staff.

Will Not Use This Tour Company Again

We arrived at the meeting point(Molly Malone statue) a few minutes early and saw several others waiting as well, but not the guide. A few minutes later he arrives frustrated as if we are all late and states we are “Like kites blowing around in the wind”. Another lady waiting for the tour looked and me and was puzzled about his reaction to us as well. We followed the guide to the bus where it was already half full of people he must have found were there even earlier. It was strange and unwelcoming start to the day. The whole tour felt a bit rushed and unorganized, not enough time to walk up to the upper lake (2 people were late back to the bus because they tried to go even further then we did but didn’t make it)at the monastic ruins stop, the ruins were our favorite part of the day, although the guide did not stay with us (as was advertised )to talk about what we were looking at. On the horse ride we were each paired with a horse and my husband asked if he could be next to me but was told that wasn’t possible because the horses have to walk in a particular order like they are used to doing. The single file ride was mostly through the forest (which although peaceful and beautiful)was not the countryside expansive views we expected from the tour page. Half way through, they stopped us for a photo op for riders that were interested and by that point my husband was quite frustrated and expressed it as we were essentially on this horse ride solo and not being able to spend the experience together. The senior stable man was understanding and allowed us to ride together the rest of the way. Thank you, Mr Jim! The stables provide the riding equipment but are in need of some improvements as the only boots available for him were riding shoes that had a split on the side, thankfully we rode most of the way and he only had to walk around mud at the stables. We understand this is a busy working stable with lessons and riders coming and going, and appreciate their hard work. Over all, the tour was a lot of riding through beautiful mountains with only 2 major stops, the horse ride (and gardens for those that didn’t do the riding experience) and the monastic ruins at the lakes. We never made it far enough to see the waterfall or upper lake as it is a long walk followed by a long up uphill climb although later realized there is a shorter way to the falls using stairs.

I had a lot of fun.

I participated from Japan.
The green of the beautiful pasture was dazzling, and thanks to the wonderful weather, I had a wonderful experience.
I wanted to be a big horse, but I was small, so I became a small horse.
The guides were also very kind and friendly. The driver also had a fun and good experience.

Love the Wicklow area and Ireland.

This was a wonderful experience! It rained the whole day, but any day horse back is a good day. My big Irish Draft (Crackers) was a sweet mount. I had a good time. I hope she felt the same. The staff were all sweet girls and helpful. Of course they want to test your riding skills! LOL. I don't let anyone ride my horse, so I get get.
Richard our bus driver was very informative, charming and funny. I learned a lot about the history of Guinness! I would suggest this adventure to all. Perhaps options for longer riding might be my only suggestion.
