Hiking Le Morne Brabant

Le Morne Brabant is a mountain in the southwest of Mauritius, located on the Le Morne peninsula. Our team pioneered guided ascents in 2004, welcoming guests from around the globe to this majestic peak. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site since July 6, 2008, this location served as a sanctuary for runaway slaves who chose to leap from the cliff rather than be recaptured. Le Morne Brabant stands as one of the island's most pristine and wild mountains. It is a habitat for a rich diversity of endemic and narrow-endemic species, including the rare Trochetia Boutoniana, our national floral emblem. Certain steeper sections of the climb require the use of hands for safe progress towards the summit. From the top, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the west and southwest lagoons, as well as a portion of the island.
