Great balloon ride over Pigeon Valley

Had a great early morning balloon ride over Pigeon Valley and the surrounding countryside. We were picked up in plenty of time and had time for a quick breakfast and bathroom break. Our guide, Halil Donmez, took us up to our balloon and made sure we boarded safely. He was our balloonist and was funny and made the whole ride very fun. We had about a 45 minute flight which we thoroughly enjoyed. Halil even managed a soft landing right on the trailer so very, very easy. Thanks to all involved.

Lord Balloons Cappadocia – An Experience of a Lifetime!
We have been fortunate enough to travel extensively throughout the world and experience some truly extraordinary adventures, but our hot-air balloon ride with Lord Balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey, was unquestionably one of the most breathtaking and unforgettable experiences of our lives!
Before our trip, everyone told us that a hot-air balloon ride over Cappadocia was something we simply could not miss. However, there was one small obstacle: my wife, Annette, is absolutely terrified of heights! For quite some time, she was convinced that this was one adventure she would be enjoying from the safety of solid ground. But just a couple of days before our scheduled ride, she reconsidered and decided that this was an opportunity too extraordinary to pass up.
And what a wonderful decision that turned out to be!
From beginning to end, the entire experience far exceeded anything we could have imagined. Floating peacefully above Cappadocia’s magnificent landscape, surrounded by other colorful balloons as the morning unfolded, was nothing short of magical. Words and photographs simply cannot capture the beauty, serenity, and sheer wonder of being up there.
A tremendous part of what made this experience so exceptional was our phenomenal pilot, Halil Donmez. He was the perfect combination of professionalism, humor, warmth, and confidence. His easygoing personality and wonderful sense of humor immediately put everyone at ease, especially Annette! He made us feel completely comfortable and safe while ensuring that we enjoyed every moment of this extraordinary adventure.
What impressed us just as much was the entire Lord Balloons team. They weren’t simply doing their jobs; they genuinely seemed to love sharing this experience with their guests. By the time our adventure was over, we felt as though we had gotten to know Halil and the wonderful staff personally.
Even before we left the ground, the experience was remarkable. As we climbed into the basket, members of the team came running over to capture photographs of us, making sure we had memories of every special moment. Watching the crew prepare and inflate that enormous balloon was fascinating, and seeing how expertly they managed both the takeoff and eventual landing was a spectacle in itself. The teamwork, precision, and professionalism involved were truly impressive!
And just when we thought the experience couldn’t possibly get any better, the celebration began! Following our landing, we were treated to a wonderful champagne celebration and medal ceremony, a delightful tradition that made the entire adventure feel even more special. It was the perfect ending to a truly unforgettable morning.
Looking back on our travels throughout Turkey, this experience stands out as one of the absolute highlights of our entire journey. There are wonderful vacations, there are memorable adventures, and then there are those rare experiences that stay with you for the rest of your life.
Our flight with Lord Balloons was one of those rare experiences.
To Halil Donmez and the entire Lord Balloons team, thank you for your extraordinary hospitality, professionalism, humor, and genuine passion for what you do. You didn’t simply take us on a balloon ride; you gave us memories we will treasure forever.
And perhaps the greatest compliment of all? My wife, who was terrified of heights, almost missed this incredible adventure. Instead, she came away having experienced one of the most magical moments of our lives!

A great experience that I will always remember

I absolutely loved my experience with Lord Balloons . It was a very early start , but we were picked up at our hotel and driven to the balloon site which was well over an hour . We had chosen this particular balloon ride through Booking.com several weeks earlier as it was way more reasonable priced than others .On arrival there was a buffet style breakfast of omelettes, fruit and bread . Ater breakfast we allocated to our balloon group. My sister and I are on the petite side but we were instructed on how to position ourselves correctly on the edge of the basket before hopping down in . We had a bit of a laugh here as , I was with my sister and her two daughters, and elegance went out the window , I'm not going to point fingers ! When everyone was in , I must say it was a snug fit , no real room to move around , we were given clear and exact instructions on how to position ourselves when pilot was landing the balloon . All the ground crew and pilot were very nice . The balloon ride itself was breathtaking, I absolutely loved it ...the views were stunning and the sunrise unreal , my photos don't really do it justice. When preparing to land we were told to get into our landing position as instructed before take off . Even though we were warned about the bump/jolt , I think it still came as a surprise to some ,3 lessening in severity each time. When we were out of the balloon we were given strawberries dipped in chocolate and the choice of a glass of champagne or orange juice...I think everyone chose the champagne 🍾🙂after which we were presented our balloon ride medals . We were then transferred back to our hotel . I can not fault our pilot Furkan Turna and his team in any way , they made our experience one to remember for the rest of our lives .
We were informed by hotel staff that we were lucky , as the balloon rides are very much weather dependent and have to have aviation approval to go ahead , the previous week had seen several of them cancelled !
