A complete money grab - the guide pushes for extra activities that are not included on the itinerary. It is so obvious that he earns a commission off of the activities.
The guide, pushed for a nile trip that we did not want to do, and a pyramid carriage ride.
We wanted to do the Egyptian museum and we had confirmed well in advance that we could book tickets on the day. The guide refused and said we cannot do that and that the ticket windows were closed - he also said he would leave us at a random restaurant and come back after to only pick us up as the "travel" cost we're not included then.

The museum is really worth seeing, it is best to be there early so that you still have some peace before the rush. We were in Cairo for 2 days, 1 day of excursions according to our wishes and 2nd day early museum, so that we could be back in Hurghada by noon. It was great!
