So much fun!!

This was so much fun! My husband and I went and it’s just under an hour, but they give you a very thorough training to get started and then you practice and do a fun competition! You also learn history during and it felt very traditional which we loved! You also get quite a few arrows to shoot and by the end you’re probably going to be ready! I would 100% come back to this, and the staff was so friendly!

This was a really fun experience. It is very low stress and the wonderful instructors speak excellent English and are very patient. Both are also very knowledgeable about their craft and they helped me noticeably improve in just the single hour.

Amazing place to learn about and practice the art of Japanese Archery!
tlm1302, October 2026
The Japanese Archery experience was amazing…and handy for what turned out to be a very rainy day in Hiroshima, although we’d pre-booked well in advance.
The instructors were fantastic; the coaching on technique was clear, they were patient and very encouraging. The pace was good. The instructors kept our session active, so we got as much time to practice as time allowed. Friendly competition encouraged! A no point did it feel the time was being dragged-out.
The studio is a beautiful, clean and pleasant space to be in. We had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice, but there would have been plenty room for two others without feeling squashed in.
My daughter and I also loved the opportunity to dress-up in the archer clothes! Really added to the experience and made great photos as a keepsake.
I highly recommend the Japanese Archery experience if you are in Hiroshima. However, please note, the studio is based beside Hiroshima Castle, not in the castle itself. Although the castle staff are happy to point you in the right direction as we found out :)
