Activity itinerary

Activity Schedule 5 h Start your journey from the center of Rhodes and head toward Kallithea Springs, Santa Marina, or a peaceful sandy beach, depending on the day’s weather. As we cruise for about an hour, enjoy trolling with professional fishing gear we provide. We target predator fish like small tunas, mahi mahi, amberjacks, barracudas, and great trevally. Our 10-meter traditional handcrafted wooden fishing boat offers a comfortable and authentic experience. It includes a fishing area for 10 people, space for dining and relaxing, WC, freshwater shower, Wi-Fi, and meets all maritime safety standards. It’s equipped with a Lowrance 1000W fish finder and radar. We use high-quality fishing gear from brands such as Shimano, Daiwa, Okuma, Penn, WFT, and Shimano. After trolling, we continue with ground fishing for 2 hours. We then anchor for swimming, snorkelling, or relaxing. While you enjoy the sea, we prepare an onboard lunch with the fish you’ve caught, plus gold seabream or sea bass (250g+), grilled on a BBQ with olive oil and sea salt, served with Greek salad and bread with Rhodian oregano. I highly recommend time out with Skevos and his father Micheal. They are exceptionally friendly and helpful. With great local knowledge and a fun sense of humour. Perfect for all the family and very reasonably priced. I’m an experienced fisherman but there is no substitute for local knowledge. Forget what you know and listen to Skevos 😊😊

Unfortunately, my experience with Skevos Fishing Trip in Rhodes was very disappointing. First of all, I noticed a lack of attention to basic hygiene standards on board, which I consider particularly important for an activity involving fishing, handling the catch, and preparing food. In particular, the fish intended for dinner were cooked on a grill that, as far as I could see, was not cleaned before being used. Even more concerning, after cooking, I saw that the charcoal used in the grill was thrown directly into the sea. I found this completely unacceptable, both from a hygiene perspective and in terms of respect for the marine environment. The fishing equipment was also inadequate and of rather poor quality. Considering the price paid, I expected a much better service and more appropriate equipment. Another major disappointment was the type of fishing experience provided. We were not taken offshore to areas where we could practice genuine deep-sea fishing and have the opportunity to catch larger fish. Instead, we remained relatively close to the shore, mainly catching small fish. This was very different from the experience I expected when booking the trip. The actual fishing time was also very limited: we only spent about one hour actually fishing. Furthermore, the excursion was supposed to end at 7:30 PM, but we returned at 6:30 PM, one full hour earlier than scheduled. Overall, the value for money was extremely disappointing. For the price we paid, I expected better organization, greater attention to hygiene, appropriate fishing equipment, a genuine offshore fishing experience and, above all, respect for the advertised schedule and duration of the excursion. Based on my experience, I would not repeat this activity. I feel that the service provided did not live up to the expectations created by the booking or the price paid.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations, but we would like to clarify several points for future guests reading this review. Hygiene is extremely important to us. Our boat is cleaned daily before every trip, and the fish and food served on board are always fresh. The BBQ used to cook the fish is charcoal-fired, not gas, so naturally it becomes darkened from regular use; this should not be confused with a lack of cleanliness. We would also like to clearly state that charcoal was not thrown into the sea. Regarding our fishing equipment, we use rods and reels from well-established fishing brands including Shimano, Penn and Okuma, so we respectfully disagree with its characterization as poor quality. Our trip is not advertised as a dedicated deep-sea big-game fishing charter. When bottom fishing with a group of up to 10 guests fishing simultaneously, the fishing grounds are selected according to the fishing method, conditions and safety of everyone on board. We would also like to correct the statement that only one hour was spent fishing. On this trip, approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes were spent bottom fishing, in addition to approximately 40 minutes of trolling. Regarding the earlier arrival at the harbor, trolling and searching for predatory fish also forms part of the return journey. When we locate fish, we stay and continue fishing, sometimes even returning later than scheduled. Unfortunately, on this occasion we did not locate fish during the return. We fully respect that every guest can have a different experience and expectations. However, we felt it was important to clarify these points, especially as the other guests from this same trip who left feedback shared positive reviews of their experience. We remain committed to providing an authentic, safe and enjoyable fishing experience in Rhodes and always take genuine feedback seriously.

Me and my partner booked this and we absolutely loved it! From the beginning we felt so comfortable and skevos and captain Mike were so kind, helpful and funny. The fish cooked at the end was delicious and the little swim spot while they cooked was beautiful. I would definitely suggest this fishing trip over others if you’re wanting great company and fun fishing!
