For a Sintra and Cascais day trip from Lisbon, three full-day options are listed on WizardTrip. Two run in small groups of 8 people at most, in 8 hours. The third goes as far as Porto, with Nazaré and Óbidos, in 13 hours.
Together they have 17,504 reviews, with ratings from 4.7 to 4.9 out of 5 (as of 18 October 2026). This article compares them on three points. Pickup: at your hotel or at a fixed meeting point. The Pena Palace ticket: included or not. Length: 8 or 13 hours.
Sintra, Cascais or Porto: what to know
Both Sintra tours take in the Pena National Palace, Sintra’s historic center, Cabo da Roca and Cascais. The palace sits at the top of the Sintra mountain. Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of continental Europe, both listings remind you.
Cascais has gone from a fishing village to a popular vacation destination, according to one of the listings. The same listing warns that the weather in Sintra can differ markedly from that in Lisbon.
Sintra and Cascais with your choice of Pena tickets
The most reviewed tour meets in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, with no hotel pickup. The guide often parks the vehicle in an underground parking garage, the listing explains, so there is no cause for concern if no vehicle is in sight when you arrive.
The 8-hour day includes about 2 hours at Pena, 1 hour in Sintra and 30 minutes at Cabo da Roca. Guincho Beach and the Boca do Inferno are passed without stopping. Cascais leaves 1 hour 30 minutes of free time, then the return goes through Estoril.
Four options set the tickets. “Entrance tickets not included” covers neither tickets nor a guided visit. “Pena Park tickets included” covers the park only. “Pena Park and Palace tickets” adds the palace and a guided tour of the outside of the palace.
The Regaleira upgrade makes the day 9 hours long and ends it at 5 pm. It includes the tickets for Pena and for the Quinta da Regaleira, but cuts the time in Cascais to 1 hour. The itinerary may then be adjusted to the opening hours of the two palaces.
The listing also shows a private option, with a private guide, vehicle and pickup, to be confirmed after booking. The guide speaks Portuguese, English, French or Spanish.
Reviews remain very favorable, with some reservations. Lauren, who gave 2 out of 5 in October 2026, regrets: “There should have been a lunch break around 12 or 1 pm.” The listing allows free time in Cascais for lunch, without giving a time.
Sintra and Cascais with hotel pickup
The second Sintra tour includes pickup at hotels and Airbnb accommodations in central Lisbon. Alfama and Bairro Alto are served. The listing adds meeting points, by neighborhood:
- São Jorge Castle: in front of São Vicente.
- Martim Moniz or Rossio: at the statue near the Metro stations.
- Saldanha, Marquês de Pombal, Restauradores: near each of these Metro stations.
If your accommodation is farther out, contact the organizer on WhatsApp to arrange a meeting point. The pickup time arrives by email and WhatsApp the day before. It can vary from 15 minutes earlier to 30 minutes later, with a 5-minute grace period if you are late.
The schedule includes 1 hour in central Sintra and 1 hour 30 minutes at Pena. It passes the Quinta da Regaleira without stopping. Cabo da Roca lasts 15 minutes, Cascais 1 hour. Lunch is not provided.
The Pena ticket is not included: the listing says it is bought from the guide. The guided visits cover the outside of the monuments. The guide speaks Portuguese, English, Italian, French or Spanish, sometimes two languages at once.
Sheila, who gave 4 out of 5 in October 2026, notes: “we didn’t have enough time in Sintra”. The listing announces 1 hour in Sintra’s historic center.
Porto, Nazaré and Óbidos: what do you see in 13 hours?
The meeting point for the Porto tour is at the Hotel Fénix, Praça Marquês de Pombal 8, in Lisbon. Arrive 15 minutes before departure: a late arrival is counted as a no-show, with no refund. The trip is made in an air-conditioned minibus.
The program starts with Óbidos, a medieval village surrounded by ramparts and dominated by its castle, with 45 minutes on site. It continues to Nazaré, a fishing town whose Forte de São Miguel is known for the giant winter waves. The program with times gives 35 and 45 minutes there.
In Porto, a 2-hour walking tour covers the old town. It passes the Igreja do Carmo, São Bento station, the Igreja São Francisco and the Dom Luís Bridge. The listing presents Porto as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One hour is free for lunch at your own expense.
Three options exist. The standard one leaves lunch to you. The upgrade with lunch adds it in a traditional restaurant. The private tour includes lunch, pickup and the return to the address of your accommodation.
The group travels together in a minibus, up to 30 people, then splits on arrival into groups of 25 at most per guide. The guides speak English or Spanish. To stay in Porto instead of going back, tell the organizer: they check whether there is room for your luggage.

Should you buy a ticket for Pena Palace?
Only one tour builds in entry to the palace: the Hard Rock Cafe tour, with the “Pena Park and Palace tickets” option. On the tour with hotel pickup, the ticket is sold by the guide. The Hard Rock Cafe listing advises buying tickets in advance, especially in high season.
Without a ticket, the day’s entries may run out, the same listing warns. You can then explore the surroundings without entering the park, or buy a ticket for the park only, with no palace or guided visit. The guide confirms the possibilities in the morning.
With children or in a wheelchair?
The listings contradict each other on strollers. The Hard Rock Cafe tour has no room for strollers or luggage. The tour with hotel pickup accepts infants and young children in strollers.
Child seats are mandatory for ages 0 to 11 on the Hard Rock Cafe tour. They are provided on request if the age is given at booking. The other tour offers infant seats on request.
None of the three listings states that it is wheelchair accessible. The Hard Rock Cafe listing rules it out. The Porto listing specifies that its route is not designed for wheelchairs or for mobility difficulties. The tour with hotel pickup does not say.
Which one to choose?
- You are staying in central Lisbon and prefer hotel pickup: the tour with pickup.
- You want to choose your tickets (park only, park and palace, Regaleira): the Hard Rock Cafe tour, the only one to offer them.
- You want to see Porto, Óbidos and Nazaré on the same day: the 13-hour tour, in English or Spanish.
- You are traveling with an infant in a stroller: only the listing for the tour with pickup mentions it.
- You use a wheelchair: no listing announces that it is accessible, so you need to ask the organizer before booking.
The city’s other tours and excursions are gathered on the page Things to do in Lisbon, and those for the country on the page Portugal.
