Peter was polite, respectful, thoughtful, knowledgeable, fun and compassionate to my creeky joints. He was a pleasure as a tour guide. Learned some things from his info and appreciated his strong distinct voice. It was great not having to drive ourselves and be able to relax and galk. Thank you Peter!

Tour guide needs a backbone
427indiac, October 2026
The overall experience was great and we enjoyed seeing and hearing about all of the different waterfalls. There were some issues that I feel could have been handled differently by the tour guide. There were 2 ladies that were not at the pickup location at their scheduled time. One lady was waiting for her friend to come out of the hotel. The van went to the next stop and came back to the 2 ladies, and one lady STILL hadn't come out. So we went to the next stop and again went back to the 2 ladies. Would you believe that they STILL were not out-front waiting at the pickup spot. After a few minutes, both ladies came out and boarded the van. This put us slightly behind schedule and I feel like the 2 ladies should have had to forfeit their spots on the tour! Coincidentally those 2 ladies ended up being a real problem the entire trip. There was an issue that came up where the 2 ladies wanted to switch seats in the middle of the tour. Everyone gets off at each stop and leaves their belongings in their "assigned" seat. The 2 ladies decided to sit in someone else's seats and move their belongings over. Would you believe that the tour guide stood idly by and let us passengers tell the ladies that they need to go back to the seats they were originally in?! He offered absolutely no help or mediation in this situation. The only thing he had to say was "Wellll technically there are no assigned seats." Well duh there are no assigned seats when we first board but after we have been driving around for 30 minutes to the first destination, isn't it assumed that when we get back on the van we would all be going back to our seats we just came out of? Or are we all expected to rotate and play musical chairs? WTF. It was absolutely ridiculous and he didn't have a backbone at all. Us passengers all stood up for the couple who had their seats taken by these 2 ladies. It was pathetic really.

Highly enjoyable waterfall experience

Let me start by saying I am not usually a tour person and I usually end up getting annoyed at the flat, mechanical way that tour information can sometimes be given. Our guide Peter was amazing, super friendly, and instantly felt comfortable with him. He is extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about all things Oregon. Never made us feel rushed, and there was plenty of time to check out each of the five beautiful waterfalls that he took us to. Will definitely do this tour again when we come back to Portland.
