Itinerary

1
Cape Town Central
Soon after pick up we will drive along the M5 and connect with the M4 via Muizenberg, St. James and Fish Hoek beaches located along the scenic False Bay coastline on our way to Boulder's Beach Penguins Colony.
· 45 min
2
Muizenberg Beach
Passing through Muizenberg beach we will see the stretch of attractive colourful beach huts in the distance. The beach huts resemble the “bathing machines” of the 1800’s—a cart-like structure that was wheeled down to the water’s edge, allowing the ladies to change into their chin-to-ankle bathing wear and frolic in the shallow waters. The beach huts are subsequently used as change rooms for sunbathers and keen surfers alike.
· Non-stop passage
3
St James Beach
Much like their counterparts, the Beach huts that can be seen here at St. James Beach are also used by sunbathers as change rooms. Your tour guide will stop here for a few minutes to allow for some fun-filled photos with these colourful beach huts before we proceed to Boulder's Beach Penguins colony.
· 15 min
4
Kalk Bay Harbour
We drive past Kalk Bay Harbour which is more like a fishing village, with the fishing boats docking and the fish traders praising their catch. Fresh fish are available for puchase here on a daily basis. The sights, smells and refreshing sea air are nothing less than spectacular.
· Non-stop passage
5
Fish Hoek Beach
We pass through Fish Hoek beach. It is possible to feel the warm Indian ocean waters which flow into the False Bay area making Fish Hoek a preferred beach for swimming and sunbathing on long stretches of warm white sand.
· Non-stop passage
6
Boulders Beach Penguin Colony
We stop at Boulder's Beach to visit the African Penguins colony. Boulder's Beach is one of the best beaches in Cape Town particularly for swimming and sunbathing. It is possible to have close encounters with the African penguins whilst swimming and sunbathing at Boulder's Beach but it is not guaranteed. Therefore, we will take a walk along the boardwalk to the official penguins colony location to see the penguins in their natural habitat. Boulder's penguins colony is home to approximately 3000 African Penguins who spend their days frolicking in the False Bay waters, basking in the sun and parading on the granite Boulders.
· 1 h· Admission not included
7
Cape of Good Hope
After our encounter with the charming African Penguins, we proceed to what is surely the highlight of the day: The Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve. It is believed that no visit to Cape Town is complete without a photo behind the Cape of Good Hope name board. We will explore the nature reserve whilst the tour guide shares historical stories about the Bartholomew Dias and Vasco Da Gama beacons. The Cape of Good Hope is home to many a fauna and flora such as fynbos (fine bush), over 250 species of birds including ostriches, buck, baboons and the Cape mountain zebra. We advise our guests to please be vigilant and not get too close the the wild animals in the reserve as they can become violent. No close contact or feeding is allowed.
· 1 h· Admission not included
8
Old Cape Point Lighthouse
After exploring the Cape of Good Hope we will drive to the Cape Point where visitors are free to take a short hike up to the Cape Point lighthouse or take the option of the Flying Dutchman Funicular (additional charge at own account). Many believe that the Cape Point is the meeting point of the Two Oceans. However, Cape Point is infact the official meeting point of the Two Ocean Currents: the Cold Benguela and the Warm Agulhas ocean currents. The Cape Point lighthouse is the most powerful on the South African coast.
· 1 h
9
Chapman's Peak Drive
Providing that it is operational, we will take a drive through Chapmans Peak Drive, which is one of the most scenic routes in the world. We will stop for a few minutes at the viewpoint to take some photos.
· 20 min· Admission included
10
Cape Town Central
Upon our arrival back in Cape Town visitors will be dropped off at the same pick up point where they were collected in the morning.
· 40 min

Great Day Tour around Cape Town
Adventure04329253685, October 2026
We had such a wonderful day exploring Cape Town! We visited so many beautiful places, including Boulders Beach, the Cape of Good Hope and Simon’s Town, and even went on a seal tour. The tour was super informative, and Jeff shared so many interesting facts about South Africa and all the places we visited. Our Tourguide Jeff was incredibly kind, and you could really tell how passionate he is about what he does. He put so much effort into making our day special and even took some cute pictures of us! The car was also very comfortable, and we felt in great hands the whole day. We absolutely loved the experience and would highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Jeff, for an unforgettable day! 🥰

Great half day tour from Cape Town.
Robert_C, October 2026
This was a great tour to the Cape of good hope and southern cape. Also a visit to the African penguin colony. Our guide/driver was Sedick Petersen he was great and knew the best order to visit each site to miss the crowds. He gave us information about every place we drove through and visited. There was only 5 of us on this tour which made it very sociable and we had a good laugh mainly lead by Sedick which made the whole tour more enjoyable. I can highly recommend this Half day tour you get to see everything and have enough time at each stop to see everything.

Dear Valued Client, Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review and for choosing Beyond Africa Safaris. We are delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic experience on our half-day Cape Peninsula tour. We are especially grateful for your kind words about Sedick Petersen. It is fantastic to know that his knowledge, sense of humour and experience helped make the tour both informative and entertaining. His ability to plan the route strategically to avoid the crowds and make the most of the time available is something we greatly value. We are also thrilled that you enjoyed the small-group experience. With only five guests, it is wonderful that you were able to connect, share some laughs and enjoy a relaxed, sociable atmosphere throughout the journey. Seeing the Cape of Good Hope, the spectacular southern coastline and the African penguins at Boulders Beach makes for a memorable experience, and we are pleased that you felt there was enough time to appreciate each stop without being rushed. We will certainly share your lovely feedback with Sedick. Knowing that his knowledge, planning and personality made such a positive impression will mean a great deal to him and our entire team. Thank you once again for your generous recommendation and for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your support and hope to welcome you back to Cape Town for another unforgettable adventure with Beyond Africa Safaris. Kind regards Albert Rocky Kasilembo Operations Manager Beyond Africa Safaris
