At Cabo San Lucas, four adventure tours listed on WizardTrip leave from your hotel for the Baja desert. Three offer a Mexican buffet and a tequila tasting; the fourth combines ziplines with a UTV ride. Together they have 23,849 traveler reviews, with ratings of 4.8 to 4.9 out of 5 (as of 18 October 2026).
This article compares the activities, durations and fees to pay on site. It then explains which tour suits which traveler.
Adventure tours in Cabo San Lucas: what you need to know
All four listings include hotel pickup, by van or white bus, about 1.5 hours before the tour. The exact time and place are confirmed within 24 hours of booking, through the operator’s chat.
Three listings name the operator Cabo Adventures. The camel ride and the ATV tour take place at the “Sacred Ranch,” a private seaside site. The quad tour heads to Tierra Sagrada ranch, also called the Holy Land.
The listings warn that major roadworks in Los Cabos can delay pickup. According to their listed details, all four tours are canceled in bad weather, but not for lack of participants. Refunds are full up to 24 hours before departure.
Some travelers missed the departure by confusing the ticket time, the start of the tour, with the pickup time. Laraya, in June 2026: “The time shown is the start of the activity, not the time you will be picked up.” In several reviews, the operator moved latecomers to another slot.
Beach camel ride, buffet and tequila
The beach camel ride has the most reviews: 9,297, for 4.9 out of 5. The listing states 5 hours, including about 3 hours of tour excluding transport, in the morning or afternoon. Groups reach 70 people, with a bilingual English and Spanish guide.
After the drive to the Pacific coast, the guide talks about the flora and fauna of Mexico, then the ride follows the beach. The Mexican buffet, facing the Sea of Cortez, includes homemade quesadillas, salsas and vegetarian options. The tasting covers tequila and mezcal. In winter, the listing mentions humpback whales during the transfer.
The listing bans cameras during the ride and requires a helmet. How long the ride itself lasts varies from review to review. Whitney puts it at about 25 minutes, in October 2025, and found the camels calm and well treated. Carmen timed it at 15 to 20 minutes, in September 2025, and gave one star.
ATV or quad: two motorized desert rides
Two tours let you drive yourself, in groups of 14 people at most. Both require a valid license and a moderate fitness level.
ATV, camel and tequila on the same day
The ATV tour with a camel ride combines, according to its listing, three popular Cabo Adventures activities in one day. The listing states 5 hours, including 3 hours of tour excluding transport. It scores 4.8 out of 5 from 4,083 reviews, the lowest rating of the four.
Wearing protective gear, you drive an automatic ATV through the desert, on trails lined with cacti. The camel ride follows, on a deserted beach. The all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet is served facing the Sea of Cortez, with tequila, mezcal or beer.
Collision insurance costs US$35 per ATV according to the program; the exclusions list says “per person.” Sheri warns in April 2026: “Be ready to stretch your legs a little more than you’d want to sit on the camel.”
4x4 quad with tequila and a Mexican buffet
The 4x4 quad tour is the shortest: 3 hours, plus transport. Listed under San José del Cabo on WizardTrip, it has 6,009 reviews for 4.9 out of 5.
An air-conditioned van reaches Tierra Sagrada ranch along the Pacific coast. Coveralls, gloves, a helmet, goggles and a safety briefing are provided. The automatic quad follows sandy trails, crosses shallow streams and stays off the beach, to protect the sea turtles that nest there. The all-you-can-eat buffet, with tequila, mezcal and beer, is served facing the ocean. In July 2026, Rachel found the route rather limited and designed for photos, but the lunch and the tequila quite good.
Zipline and UTV: the longest day
The zipline and UTV day lasts 6 hours. It has 4,460 reviews for 4.9 out of 5, the best rating of the four. Departures are at 9 am and noon, for 28 people at most.
At the base camp, guides fit the participants with their gear, then a 4x4 drives up to the canyon. The course starts with lower, slower ziplines. Next come climbing, rappelling and faster ziplines, including an inverted one. The listing advertises the longest and fastest zipline in Mexico. Twenty minutes of UTV driving in the canyon end the day.
The included lunch brings homemade quesadillas, a salsa bar, salads and ice-cold beers. Reviews mention seven or eight ziplines, about two hours on the course and some walking between the sections. A one-star review, from June 2025, reports a pickup that never happened.

How much does a Cabo San Lucas tour really cost?
The price on each listing includes neither the park entrance fee nor collision insurance. Three listings put the entrance fee at US$25; the zipline listing gives no amount. The ATV and quad listings state US$35 for insurance. Reto, in December 2025, reports US$25 for entry and US$25 for the UTV insurance.
Photos add to the bill: cameras are restricted and photographers sell their pictures. No listing gives the price.
Carmen cites $208 for the package or $50 per photo. Jesse, in October 2026, notes $79 for a solo traveler and $159 for four. Viktoria paid close to $500 for two in September 2026, including nearly $200 for digital photos and videos. By contrast, Whitney found the photos good enough to buy the package.
Children, weight, license: who can take part?
All four tours exclude pregnant women and advise against taking part with spine or cardiovascular problems. All require a helmet. The camel ride suits every fitness level. The other three call for a moderate level.
For children, only the zipline gives a threshold: age 8 and 1.22 m (4 ft). The camel and ATV listings target families with older children, without giving an age. The quad listing gives only the driving age, 18.
The maximum weight ranges from 118 kg for the ATV to 120 kg for the other three. All four listings mention vegetarian options. None mentions wheelchair accessibility.
Which one should you choose?
- You want the most accessible option: the camel ride, open to every fitness level.
- You want to drive and ride a camel on the same day: the ATV with camel, in groups of 14 at most.
- You only want to drive, for 3 hours: the 4x4 quad, the shortest outing.
- You want the most activities, or you are traveling with a child of 8 who is 1.22 m (4 ft) tall: the zipline with UTV.
