For a desert safari from Dubai, six tours are listed on WizardTrip. All include hotel pickup and a quad bike or 4x4 outing in the dunes. Only one offers options without dinner.
Together they have more than 70,000 reviews, with ratings of 4.9 to 5.0 out of 5 (as of 18 October 2026). This article compares them on the quad bike, dune bashing, the camp, minimum age and price, then says which to choose.
Dubai desert safari: what to know
The six safaris follow roughly the same pattern: the hotel, the dunes, then a camp for dinner and shows. Three things set them apart.
- Quad bike: included in the 60-minute quad safari, the Majlis camp safari and the premium camp safari, optional in the other three.
- Dune bashing (driving a 4x4 over the dunes): 30 to 45 minutes. The 60-minute quad safari does not include it.
- Evening camp: Al Khayma for three listings, then Majlis, a premium camp and Noble.
Three safaris to the Al Khayma camp
Three listings lead to the Al Khayma camp, with its barbecue buffet, shows and camel rides.
The 60-minute quad safari
The 60-minute quad safari is the most reviewed listing: 24,919 reviews, 5.0 out of 5, about 6 hours. The quad bike ride lasts 60 minutes in the open desert of the red dunes, helmet provided. A 35-minute option exists, as well as an option for two people on one quad, with a $37 surcharge for a solo traveler.
Dune bashing is not included. At the Al Khayma camp, the evening includes a camel ride, a barbecue dinner and shows. The fire show is reserved for evening slots. The quad bike is for ages 14 to 55, and the participant pays for any damage to the quad.
The premium 4x4 safari
The premium 4x4 safari has 12,901 reviews, 5.0 out of 5, for 7 hours, pickup and return included. It begins with 60 minutes of 4x4 in the desert, then 30 to 45 minutes of dune bashing and sandboarding.
In the evenings, a stargazing session with a telescope follows the fire show and the 5-star buffet. The quad bike is optional. Three options exist, including a private 4x4 with a shared camp. Tell the provider a day ahead if you have a flight on the day of the tour.
The 4-hour or 7-hour safari
The 4-hour or 7-hour safari has 7,919 reviews, 5.0 out of 5 and four options. Both 4-hour options include dune bashing, sandboarding, a camel ride and refreshments. One adds 30 minutes of quad biking.
The Al Khayma camp and dinner are reserved for the 7-hour options. These durations include pickup and return.
Three safaris with a large camp: Majlis, premium camp and Noble
The other three listings rely on a large camp, with a stated maximum group of 100, 99 and 150 people.
The Majlis camp safari
The Majlis camp safari is the longest: 7 hours 30 minutes, 12,871 reviews, 4.9 out of 5. Pickup begins between 1:45 pm and 3 pm. The quad bike ride lasts 10 to 60 minutes depending on the option, and dune bashing 45 minutes.
The camp, rated 5-star according to the listing, welcomes 100 guests at most. The evening has five live shows, then a five-course barbecue dinner. This listing is the only one to mention wheelchair accessibility. Vanessa took the VIP upgrade for dinner. In October 2026, she writes: “the individual air conditioning and comfortable raised seats made the dining experience even more pleasant”.
The evening safari to the premium camp
The evening safari to the premium camp has 6,089 reviews, 4.9 out of 5, for 6 to 7 hours. It is the only listing whose guides speak Arabic and English. The program includes a self-guided 25-minute quad bike ride, 30 to 35 minutes of dune bashing and sandboarding.
The camp offers table seating, a barbecue buffet prepared live and five types of shows. Frank, who gave three stars in February 2026, warns: “allow more than an hour on the road to one of the 32 camps”.
The evening safari to the Noble camp
The evening safari to the Noble camp has 5,695 reviews and a rating of 5.0 out of 5. It lasts about 6 hours, including 45 minutes of travel each way. The desert takes about an hour, and the quad bike or buggy is optional.
The camp, in Al Awir, takes about 3 hours: souk, baby camels, international barbecue buffet, nine shows and a singer. Five options range from standard seats to the VVIP private tour. Outside Dubai, fees of 500 to 1,000 AED may be added. The listing also provides for cancellation if there are too few participants.

With children: what age for the quad bike?
The minimum age for the quad bike varies. It is 14 for the 60-minute quad safari and the Noble camp. The Majlis camp sets 15 in the open desert, with a secured area from age 11. On the 4-hour or 7-hour safari, those under 16 must be accompanied.
For the camel ride, those under 12 must be accompanied in three listings. On the 60-minute quad safari, those under 14 may not ride.
Infants travel on an adult’s lap at the Majlis and premium camps, but not on the 60-minute safari. The premium safari and the 4-hour or 7-hour safari refuse children under 3 for dune bashing.
What happens in bad weather or during Ramadan?
All six listings make the outing depend on the weather. Four offer another date or a full refund. They are the premium safari, the 4-hour or 7-hour safari, the premium camp and the Noble camp. Weather aside, all six refund a cancellation made 24 hours before departure.
During Ramadan, the Majlis and Noble camps warn that the belly dance may be missing. The listings differ on the fire show: kept on the 4-hour or 7-hour safari, limited at the premium camp.
Which one to choose?
- Longest quad bike ride: the 60-minute quad safari, without dune bashing, or the Majlis camp safari, up to 60 minutes.
- Low price or a short outing: the 4-hour or 7-hour safari, one option of which lasts 4 hours. Its starting price is the lowest among the listings in dollars.
- Stargazing: the premium 4x4 safari, with a telescope session in the evening.
- Wheelchair: the Majlis camp safari, the only listing to say so.
- Large camp: the Noble camp, nine shows and a singer, or the premium camp, table seating and an Arabic- and English-speaking guide.
