The Oahu circle island tour from Honolulu is done by bus or minibus. Pickup takes place at hotels in Waikiki or nearby. Four tours listed on WizardTrip offer it, with 19,778, 11,250, 8,326 and 6,218 reviews. Their ratings range from 4.6 to 5.0 out of 5 (as of 18 October 2026).

They last from 6.5 to 12 hours. They differ in snorkeling, meals, the Waimea waterfall and group size, from 28 to 50 people. This article compares them and says which to choose.

Oahu circle island tour: what to know

All four listings state an English-speaking guide and no other language. All refund a cancellation made at least 24 hours before departure in full. The itineraries overlap: the Dole Plantation appears in all four listings, the Halona Blowhole and the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout in three.

The two-option tour: half day or 9 hours

This tour offers two options. The first lasts 6.5 hours and is limited to the Dole Plantation, 90 minutes, then Haleiwa, 2 hours. The second lasts 9 hours and adds four stops before the North Shore. The Halona Blowhole and the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout take 10 minutes each, the Byodo-In Temple and Tropical Farms 20 minutes each.

Haleiwa then takes 1 hour 30 minutes and the Dole Plantation 30 minutes. Diamond Head, Kahala, Hanauma Bay and downtown Honolulu go by without stopping. Pickups start as early as 6:30 am for the 9-hour option and 7:30 am for the half day. The exact time is confirmed at booking.

The listing includes an “A Taste of Hawaii” snack with water, onboard restrooms and a luxury bus. It does not include lunch, or the Dole Plantation train or maze. With 5.0 out of 5 from 19,778 reviews, it is the highest rated of the four.

Lloyd writes in October 2026: “It is worth the cost and the time because it is a full-day tour of the island.” A two-star review faults the half day for being limited to Dole and Haleiwa. A September 2026 review reports a pickup at 7:10 am for a 6:30 am booking.

The big tour with snorkeling: 8 to 10 hours

This big tour lasts 8 to 10 hours. At booking, you choose your hotel or enter your address, and the operator assigns the nearest pickup point. If that point differs from your hotel, the listing says there is generally a short walk.

The program has 16 stops. It begins on the east coast: the Diamond Head Lookout, the Halona Blowhole, Sandy Beach Park and Waimanalo, 20 minutes each. Next come Mokoli’i Island, then 1 hour of snorkeling on the north shore, gear provided. The route also goes through Waimea Bay, then 1 hour at the North Shore Macadamia Nut Company and 1 hour at the Dole Plantation. The Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach are seen from the bus.

Included are snorkeling gear, nonalcoholic drinks, snacks, an air-conditioned vehicle and the return to the hotel. The listing mentions shrimp food trucks without saying that lunch is included. The tour may be canceled because of bad weather or too few participants.

It scores 4.8 out of 5 from 11,250 reviews. Karen writes in October 2026: “There is enough time at each stop with wonderful photo opportunities.” A September 2026 review reports snorkeling canceled because of murky water. Another judges the beach risky for an inexperienced swimmer.

The small-group tour: Waimea waterfall and lunch included

This 9-hour tour, offered by E Noa Tours, runs in an air-conditioned minibus for 28 participants at most. It picks up at selected Waikiki hotels. If yours is not among them, the listing asks you to call the operator at least 24 hours ahead.

  • Nu’uanu Pali and Byodo-In: 15 minutes at the lookout, 30 minutes at the temple, admission included.
  • Tropical Farms: 20 minutes, with macadamia nuts to taste and crack.
  • Lunch: 45 minutes at the Pounders restaurant, at the Polynesian Cultural Center, Monday to Saturday, or at Tanaka Shrimp on Sunday.
  • Waimea Valley: 30 minutes, admission included, with a short walk to a 13-meter waterfall where swimming is possible.
  • Dole Plantation: 30 minutes, at the end of the day.

The listing counts pickup, admission to the temple and Waimea Valley, and a sit-down lunch as included. A note nevertheless asks you to bring cash to buy your lunch, cards not accepted: check this point with the operator. The listing advises against the tour for heart conditions or other serious medical problems.

With 4.9 out of 5 from 8,326 reviews, it is the second highest rated. Two reviews, from September 2026 and August 2025, find some stops too short. The first also judges swimming at the waterfall unwise that day, because of rain.

The 10-to-12-hour snorkeling circuit

This circuit is the longest: 10 to 12 hours, for 40 participants at most. The listing advertises more than 16 points of interest. It specifies that the booking is not confirmed until you have contacted the company and received your Fare Harbor ticket.

Pickup takes place at one of four Waikiki points, assigned after that contact. It does not serve the Aloha Tower cruise port. For the Ala Moana port, it takes place in front of the Ilikai hotel, at the flagpole.

  • East coast: Diamond Head, Eternity Beach, the Halona Blowhole and Sandy Beach Park, 15 to 20 minutes each. Hanauma Bay is passed without stopping.
  • Nu’uanu Pali and Tropical Farms: 30 minutes each, admission included, with unlimited macadamias and Kona coffee according to the listing.
  • Snorkeling: 1 hour at Haleiwa Beach Park, with sea turtles. Mask, snorkel, life jacket and lifeguards are provided.
  • Dole Plantation: 50 minutes, enough for the train or the maze according to the listing.

Included are water, coffee, juice, snacks and snorkeling gear. Lunch is not named among the inclusions. The itinerary may change with the weather: stops may be shortened or dropped. A cancellation within 24 hours is not refunded.

It is the lowest rated of the four: 4.6 out of 5 from 6,218 reviews. Two reviews, from July and August 2026, note that a single driver gave the commentary. A May 2026 review notes that on a Sunday, many food trucks were closed.
