We don't believe in "cookie-cutter" experiences and neither should you! We provide the most personalized tours possible, meaning every tour we give is never the same. With the exception of a few must-try foods, the rest is built around YOU and what you're curious about tasting.
Groups are kept small and led by an incredibly knowledgeable guide. Did you know baguettes are some of the worst bread in France and you should be asking for something else? Did you know there are seasons for cheese? Would you like to have someone explain the regions of French wine? Our guides can do this because they are former chefs, food writers, and wine experts - not a student who has memorized a script.
You'll be strolling through Old Bordeaux, with its magnificent medieval architecture and cobblestone streets, sampling the best Bordeaux has to offer. We have selected only the highest quality shops to showcase and portion sizes are generous.
✓ Sampling the best shops in Bordeaux: an artisanal bakery, butcher, cheese, cannele, and wine shop✓ Alcoholic Beverages✓ Generous portions of wine, cheese, charcuterie, and other tasting samples are included✓ Our unique format: enjoy a grand finale + pairing at a wine cellar/shop the second half of the tour✓ Gluten free clients need to alert us in advance✓ A personalized tour: every tour is different because it is based on the foods YOU are curious about1 Grosse Cloche
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and is divided into two parts.
The first half has you visiting the best artisanal shops in the city - specifically an artisanal bakery, fromagerie, butcher and cannele pastry shop.
You will sample a few items along the way but the main event happens during the second half of the tour.
You will enjoy a seated wine, cheese and charcuterie pairing for a grand finale at a wine cellar/wine shop.
As we are walking, we'll point out a few historical landmarks in Old Town Bordeaux from the Camino de Santiago to the Grosse Cloche - one of the most recognized monuments of Bordeaux.

Had an amazing time on this food and wine tour. Alex was a brilliant guide—super knowledgeable and friendly! The choice of local shops and food pairings was top-notch and completely delicious from start to finish. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Bordeaux!

if you like cheese - take this tour.
Wendy_L, October 2026
We took this tour in Oct 2026, and it was the best tour as we sampled many different pastries, several cheese, about 5 different meats and three different wines. The tour guide took us around the city center and gave us some history of different sites and then we stopped at wine cellar to taste all the treats paired with Wine. Probably the most important thing about this tour was the guide was so passionate about the food in France. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about bakeries, fromage and wine.
Response from the operator · rovnerdiane Hello Wendy and thank you so much! Indeed, if you like cheese (or high quality food + wine in general) than you should definitely take our tour : ) We really do strive to not only provide the best possible products you can find in Bordeaux but to educate you along the way. Of course, Alexandre T. deserves much of the credit for this 5-star review as his passion truly shines through. He is very generous with his knowledge and time, and we are lucky to have him as part of our little team. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for supporting a small business! Wishing you all the best, Diane Rovner of Bordeaux in Bites Food Tours

Great way to spend the morning and learn about Bordeaux
Dan_R, October 2026
Great, great, great tour. I wanted to hear about the history of Bordeaux and try some of the local specialties. Both were done really well by Alexandra. She explained the history and monuments we passed on our walk, and took us for food at benchmark stops. I highly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator · rovnerdiane Hi Dan and wow! Thank you so much! I am sometimes humbled by people's reviews, so to call ours a "great, great, great" tour is beyond words. It's incredibly kind of you : ) It makes all the hard work that goes into everything totally worth it, not that you would know by the way your guide Alexandra M. easily pulls it off. Thank you so much again and wishing you all the best, Diane Rovner of Bordeaux in Bites
