To see Seoul in one day, a guided group tour is listed on WizardTrip. It goes through Gyeongbokgung Palace, N Seoul Tower and Namsangol Hanok Village. It has 4,745 reviews and a rating of 4.9 out of 5 (as of 18 October 2026).

Two options exist: a 3.5-hour half day and an 8-hour full day. Only the full day adds Insadong, N Seoul Tower and Namsangol village. The article details the stops, the closing days, what is included and the pace of the day.

Seoul in one day: what to know

The guided tour of Seoul runs in a group of 40 people at most, with a guide who speaks English. Both options include hotel pickup, only in central Seoul. They end at Myeongdong, a district known for its shops and street food.

Entry to Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Folk Museum of Korea is included. The listing also specifies that a shopping center is on the itinerary: the ginseng center.

Half day or full day: which stops?

Six stops are in both options:

  • Jogyesa Temple: 30 min, the main temple of Korean Buddhism.
  • Blue House (Cheongwadae): drive-by, no stop, at the foot of Mount Bugaksan.
  • Gwanghwamun Gate: 10 min, with the changing of the guard, except on Tuesday.
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace: 1 hour, entry included, with the throne hall and the royal residences.
  • National Folk Museum of Korea: 20 min, entry included, on the daily life of the aristocracy and the common people.
  • Ginseng museum: 20 min, with a tasting of tea and ginseng-based products.

The full day adds three stops before the end at Myeongdong:

  • Insadong: 1 hour, a district of art galleries, antique shops, tea houses and street food stalls.
  • N Seoul Tower: 1 hour, at the top of Mount Namsan. The ascent is by cable car, and the love locks area is part of the visit.
  • Namsangol Hanok Village: 40 min, with five restored Joseon-dynasty hanok houses, representing different social classes, and a traditional Korean garden.

Gyeongbokgung Palace, the changing of the guard and Tuesday

Gyeongbokgung Palace is the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. According to the listing, it dates from the 14th century and is the largest of Seoul’s Five Grand Palaces. The guide shows you the throne hall and the royal residences in one hour.

The changing of the guard takes place at Gwanghwamun Gate, the palace’s main entrance. It does not take place on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the palace is closed and the tour goes to Deoksugung Palace, without stopping at Gwanghwamun Gate. The listing also cites the closing of Namsangol village, on Tuesday in one place and on Monday in another. On Monday, the tour goes to Bukchon Hanok Village. Check the exact day on the listing before booking.

Pickup, tickets, meals: practical questions

How does hotel pickup work?

The organizer emails the exact time and place, between 8 am and 9 am depending on the hotel. Pickup exists only in central Seoul, where the bus can park. For a guesthouse, an Airbnb or a hostel, it suggests a meeting point. The Incheon and Gyeonggi area is not served.

The return to the hotel is not included. It is possible at Myeongdong, at City Hall or at Itaewon.

N Seoul Tower: what does the price include?

The cable car ride is included, but not the observatory ticket. The listing specifies this in several places, while its itemized itinerary notes an entry included for this stop. If in doubt, check the listing before booking.

Meals and tips

Food, drinks and tips are not included. Insadong and Myeongdong, two stops on the route, have street food stalls.

What pace, and for whom?

The walking is moderate and the tour suits all fitness levels. Strollers are accepted, and infants stay on an adult’s lap.

Reviews differ on the pace. John, in September 2026, writes: “For an 8-hour tour, the time flew by thanks to the itinerary she created for us.” Sunitha, who gives 3 out of 5 the same month, writes: “Tour too fast, not enough time to take photos without losing the tour guide.”

Which option should you choose?

  • You have half a day: the 3.5-hour option, with the palace, the two museums and the end at Myeongdong.
  • You want to see Seoul from Mount Namsan: the 8-hour full day, with N Seoul Tower.
  • You want to discover traditional houses: the full day, with Namsangol Hanok Village.
  • You leave on a Tuesday: Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed, and the tour goes to Deoksugung Palace.
  • You stay outside the city center or in Incheon: hotel pickup is not available.

For the rest of your stay, the city’s tours and activities are gathered on the Things to do in Seoul page. To plan a wider trip, see the South Korea page.
